P2 Art ideas and Computer game Graphics

Unit 78: Digital graphics for Computer Games
P2 Be able to Generate Art Ideas for Computer Game Graphics

Stimulus

Whats is a brief?
Client brief: A client brief is when the client asks certain requirements from your game. For example; "a platform game with five levels."

Own brief: An own brief is when you are left to your own ideas and choices which the client brief has left to you. For example; "designing as many characters or mobs in the game."

Market research; Market research is  a way to make better business decisions, because it covers all the research of marketing (Point of sale) information, consumer insights, industry expertise.

Ideas Generation

What would you do next?
Brainstorming: Brainstorming is one of the ways to store information that you have gathered or thought of from any type of source for example, a novel, a game and a film etc.

Mood Boards: Mood |Boards are full of images or information on a certain subject that its to do with.

Thumbnail Sketches: Thumbnail sketches are sketches that are quick ideas on what the character or object will look like, an example of this is the same image repeatedly drawn and edited in steps.

Concept art: Concept art can be the Backgrounds,Sprites,Characters,Weapons,Vehicles,Environments
Concept art is an idea that can be developed into a final design for something.

Legal & Ethical Considerations

What is Copyright law? Copyright is when the owner has the legal right to keep it for themselves. If someone takes a copyright piece without permission the person would be fined a high cost as it doesn't belong to them.

What is Libel? Libel is a published false statement that is damaging to a persons reputation, for example; "he was found to be libeled by the newspaper."

How are females represented in games? Females are changed though out the years of development in games, However they all end up seeming to be in a exaggerated art style which can cause some to judge and believe its wrong.

What is intellectual property? Intellectual Property is protected in law by, for example, patents, copyright and trademarks, which enable people to earn recognition or financial benefit from they invert or creation.

Concept Art

Concept Art

These are the images that i have created for example of concept art.
Concept art is a design and an idea for a later design. These images are ideas and not the final designs. Each image either has exaggerated features that might change depending on the type of genre. and it could also be a design that might have a totally different look, to what it looks like now.
This is a design that i have created on Photoshop. this is an image of the character "Cooler" yet edited to make it my own unique style. In this image I have shown to of the same character, the first is to show what the outline looked like, so that i could edit the features if i wanted to. The second example is the design that has been half completed. This is important to see if the design of the character is working and should be continued to edit.
This is the image that i drew using pencil, black fine-liner and a normal blue pen. This is the original image that i created for the character "Cooler"

I then created some other characters from other games. This character is from the game called "Assassins-Creed"
This was created using a HB and a 2B pencil and coloured pencils.

This is the character out of "Command and Conquer 3 Red Alert 3" Named Tanya. This was used with a HB and a 4B pencil.
(Most art work exaggerated style)

I then started to create more colourful concept art and different styles for examples.
This is an image of a drawing that i did by memory of the joker. Most detail went into the face rather than the actual body.
i then followed the lines of "Batman" and drawn another one.
This was another colourful image that i wanted to see would be better in, compared to it being in black and white. This is an idea on what i wanted her to look like at the time, with some edits needed.
The next Drawing was very different compared to most designs i have created. For example the design was dark and had a bad vibe coming from the drawing with was a nice idea at the time.
This was mainly an idea to see what i could come up with to change the mood of most of my drawings. The drawing has obviously got some places where the editing has to go but it helped me get an idea what worked and what didn't.

I then start to try to make drawings more photo-realistic.
In this drawing i drew a child and drew him again with just the outlines. I then changed the odd feature on the lower image and turned him into a look a like of chucky. This gave me ideas on what i could do with original images and how i can change them for my self.
This is 4 images of the same drawing that i created. it shows from the very start of the drawing and how i progressed to the finished piece.
This was the final image of the drawing that i created. using only a HB, 2B and a 4B pencil.

P2 Creating Concept art for Computer Games

Concept art is a form of illustration used to convey an idea for use in (but not limited to) films, video games, animation or comic books before it is put into the final product. Concept art is also referred to as visual development and concept design
Computer Game graphics
(Print Media Graphics, such as posters, game packaging)
Print media is used for advertisement for the computer game. The graphics used on print media have a range of techniques to make people want to buy it. For example bright colours or effective fonts will help sell the game much quicker.
In-game graphics (Heads up Display Graphics, Sprite graphics)
In-game graphics the graphic style is much lower in quality compared to the print media side of graphics (Usually). The game graphics verify depending on the type of genre and the target audience. The sprite graphics are used due to the limitation of the time.
Visual Style (Colour, Style, photo-realistic, Cel Shaded, Anime)
Visual art styles are used to make games look more diverse so that they are easy to distinguish among other games. Photo-realism is used to make games look more realistic, an example being the Call of Duty franchise. The opposite to this would be Cel-shading, where games are made to look more like a cartoon or anime, an example being Splatoon.
Composition
Composition is when in pictures specific locations so that they have more attention to them so they are the main focus, an example of a style that uses this is rule of thirds, where the main features in a picture are put along the lines around the third of the way of the picture so they have more of a focus.
Typography
Typography is a big thing when it comes to the graphic side of development. Fonts are used to make things stand out and other all to catch the consumers eye. There are arrange of different types of fonts, for example bold to curvy to a simple text. these are all used in different ways to make the design the best quality it can give.
Technical considerations, (e.g. File format, file size, Optimizing, file name, intended output.)
technical considerations are used to make the image keep and contain more pixels and better quality. the file names are also used to give the best effect for that type of development for example .dox would be better for word and not graphics. It also is used to make the the design better by editing it.

Pre-Production and Planning for a Computer Game.

BTEC Extended Diploma in Computer Games Design
Unit 1: Pre-Production techniques for the Creative Media Industries.
Kori Chamberlain
Pre-Production and Planning for a Computer Game.

Type of Production
Type of Production is making a game which is thought about what it will be on (Phone/Xbox).
Steam is a website that you can download video game content and it allows you to run games on it as well. Steam is a good website that has a range of games on offer for you to buy or get for free. By allowing games to run on its server its bring in more money for steam. The website is available to those that have a PC, Mac, IOS, Android etc. Which shows that steam is a popular digital game store and server.
In my game it was originally thought to be a phone app which can be played on Android and IOS devices. The game seems to be a typical platform jumper which is usually seen on the phone. This is more suitable to be on the phone because of the low amount of pixels and because its more suitable.

Finance
Financing a business without borrowing or issuing shares. In this situation startup capital is required to run the business until profits can underpin the outgoings of the business.
The advantages are that the control is not given to share holders, and their opinion does therefore not have to be taken into account in relation to business decisions
And the business would gain more money because other companies are not involved
A disadvantage are that sufficient capital may not be available to reach desired economics of scale, and because of the large capital often required to start a business, few totally self-financing
Some business that self-finance are independent and if done correctly could be a good profit for the worker/designer.
Financing is used to fund your development within the game before its sold. The game that im creating could be self financed, because its a simple game design which wouldn't require much help, which would mean more of a profit. On the other hand lending money from other companies could help with the development of the game yet the profit of the game would be shared.

Time constraints
Time Constraints are essential to game development, Constraints takes the role of the Theme, time, team and tools.
The time constraints is when say a game should be finished within (48 hours) the development team would create an idea and stick to it, without changing your mind.
My game would benefit to have time to be made around that time, to push the development team to finish it. My game is simple and complex which would make it much easier to finish within those requested times.

Facilities materials
(Concept art, internet, assets etc)
Gaming industries need materials to make products. The products need to have high quality which is why a separate company is involved. My game would also need materials to give the best quality my game can get. every company that advertises something, needs facilities materials.

Contributors
Contributors are those people that contribute to either the designing, or the code. It could also be for voice actors or people that are known for their talent for coding, sounds etc. Contributors don't get paid and are there for the experience. this is good for the contributor because it looks good on a CV and the company gets to develop a game without paying the contributors (Sometimes).
Games that are risks and are new of its kind, would use this tactic the most to save money. Companies want a good profit from the game, which would mean the companies allowing people to learn and develop games for free of charge. Contributors are used usually to improve the game to what it was, with maybe a better voice actor or a presenter the game would have an effect towards it. This is usually found in games that have had bad feedback on something, for example an accent can be annoying for those playing it, which might make the company bring in a different contributor.

Codes of Practice.
(Legal-Copyright, Health and safety, insurance etc)
This is when the gaming industries have to think about when designing and developing a game. For starters, already created sprites or other uses for the game could be copyrighted which would result into you having to pay a high amount of money for that particular thing. This also considers the development team for there health and safety and how its important to keep the hours fair and to keep everyone safe. The insurance is known for helping people that have had a problem at work which is needs to be known in all work places.
My design and development of the game would have to be mine, sometimes games bring in other work that actually haven't been made by themselves and have gave permission for the use of the copyrighted image. If so the creator would have to give thanks to the person that gave them the image and would have to show there name in the credits or somewhere within the game.

Personnel:
Size of Team
In different types of games the size of the group depends on how much stuff like editing is needed. Games like GTA 5 and Skyrim are games that had a big amount of developers working on there games because of the quality and how big the game is overall. Games need to meet requirements which are deadlines and the overall quality, this effects the amount of developers on one game.
In the teams they have:
An Animator
Assistant Producer
Audio Engineer
Creative director
External Producer
Game Designer
Game Programmer
Game Artist
Lead Artist
Lead Programmer
Level Editor
Marketing Executive
My game wouldn't need a big team as the code and the design of the game is complex. The company doesn't want to spend money on people that are not needed which would result in having a much smaller group for this game.
Games that have more money gone into them, will have more than one of these developers. Usually when needed more they bring in one or two more in for that section of the games development. These are examples on what the type of developer does.
The Animator:
The Animator is responsible for the movement and the function of the game. This developer uses all that the software can give them when it comes to the animations.
Assistant Producer
The Assistant producer is responsible for keeping watch on the development team and making sure it has good enough quality before publishing,
Audio Engineer
The Audio Engineer is responsible for the soundtrack, Including the music,Sound effects, character voices and ambient effects.
Creative Director
Creative directors are responsible for the overall look and feel for the game, They also have to check if the soundtrack and the quality is okay for the feel of the game to be good.
External Producer
External producer is responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of a game, while working externally from the development team. Its also to make sure that the game is advertised  as commercially as possible.
Game Designer
Devising what a game exists of how it plays, defining all the elements. They communicate this to the the art assets and the computer code.
Game Programmer
Designing and writing the computer games code, that runs and controls the game.
Game Artist
Creating the visual elements of a game i.e. Characters, objects vehicles and textures. They also create concept art and story boards during production.
Lead Artist
Lead artist is responsible for the overall look of the game. And devising the visual style and directing the production of all visual materials throughout the game.
Lead programmer.
Lead programmer is responsible for Leading all of the development team that are responsible for the code which runs and controls the game
Level Editor
Level editor is responsible for defining creating interactive architecture for a segment of a game.
Marketing executive
Marketing executive is responsible for promoting your employers products, or service ideas. They also want to make people aware of the product through t.v, radio and the press.

Skills and Experiences
All developers have different needed skills and experiences, Most of these developers above need A levels or higher education. Others like the idea of rewards being shown through the work you are applying for. For example a Market executive has to show confidence in their actions and for applying for local activity or achievements for doing something that involves being confident will make the company want you. Also wanting to be a "Lead" of a type of development, you would have to show your a leader through hard work in the company or by showing evidence that you are a good leader before and that the team would benefit by having them.

Availability
Availability is when a game is ready to bought and played. The game that im creating would be created at a similar paste to a normal phone app. The game is complex and has unlimited levels and scores which is simple to create and is found very popular in the market specially in the phone app store.

Costs
Each game comes with a price, some more than others. The game requires money to be put into the game to allow it to be further developed. My game would cost a smaller amount compared to most games. This game firstly, is a phone app which is low in cost in the first place. Second of all the game would have a small development team which would mean less money spent. And overall the game has smaller quality and is a gamble when its published because theirs not a automatic audience waiting for the game.

Teams or Crew CV's
The Team/Crew needs to have some good qualifications. For example a team Artist needs to have some sort of Education on fine art and some experience in the company before being being promoted. Another example is a marketing executive which would need some sort of reward or qualification that proves they are confident and are able to work with other people.
In my game the Team/Crew will at least need have minimum requirements when creating this game. The game could be created  using simple software and tools, as the target audience is below teens.

Game Maker
Game Maker Studio caters to entry-level novices and seasoned game development professionals equally, allowing them to create cross-platform games in record time and at a fraction of the cost of conventional tools!
In addition to making game development 80 percent faster than coding for native languages, developers can create fully functional prototypes in just a few hours, and a full game in just a matter of weeks.
Game Maker is usually used for platform games. This is a very easy and simple game design software, which doesn't need that much experience to produce a good design of a game.
My game will be created using GameMaker: Studio because the software is simple to use and the options available in this software are good for this 2D Platform game. The game uses simple functions like move left and right, which are needed in the game and a simple game maker that is easy to use and cheap to get, allows the me and other companies make a good profit. With new coders and designers being introduced to the company, GameMaker would be a idea for those that are new to designing.

Researching Games

Different Types Of Genres In video Games
Task (1)
1.) FPS, (First Person Shooters)
First person shooters are games that are shown through the characters eyes, which you have control of. Games like Call of Duty or Battlefield 3 are similar in the genre and don't seem to have other genres in their games.
Call of Duty is a good example of a FPS game:
Image result for call of duty black ops first person shooter
This is an image taken from Call of duty Black ops game-play which shows its a First person shooter. As it shows you are the character and you are viewing everything from the characters perspective.
Another great example of a FPS game is Battlefield:
Image result for battlefield 3 first person
This is an image taken from Battlefields game-play which shows that both games have the same type of genre and that they are making the player view the game through the character.

2.) RTS (Real time Strategy games)
Real Time Strategy games are games that require thought on tactics. For example you could be building a base or an army or even something that just requires you to play with some thought.
Examples of games that have this type of genre are:
Command and Conquer, Star Craft 2, War-hammer Etc.
 Image result for rts games
This is an image taken from A game-play of Command and Conquer Tiberium Wars. This is viewing the battle field from above. This view point is very common on strategy games as you need a good view point.
Another example of a game that is a RTS game is StarCraft 2
Image result for starcraft 2 gameplay
This is StarCraft 2 this is another RTS game which has the same view point and mission type as the other examples shown.

3.) Platform
Platform games are usually 2D games that go left or right, however some games go up or down. Platform games are usually a character trying to jump to one platform to another. Games like Sonic or Mario are classic examples of platform types.
Image result for Sonic Platform game play
This is Sonic which is a platform game, its view is at the character with a good amount of view from behind and in the front of the character, so the player can see the platforms of the game. Games like this have simple controls like: jump, moves (left, Right)
Another example is a Mario game.
Image result for Mario Platform game play
This is an image of gameplay from the game Mario. This looks similar to Sonic yet are to different games, the type of genre (Platform) makes these games seem to be similar. Also the use of art styles are also similar with bright colours being used.

4.) Sandbox
A Sandbox Game is a endless game which allows you to do most things that other games don't allow you to do. Games like Minecraft or simulators are wanting people to play for endless amount of hours which is why sandbox mode in most games are found popular.
Minecraft is a good example of a type of sandbox genre.
Image result for minecraft
In Minecraft the point of the game is to do what you want which is the main point for sandbox genre type games. It allows you to build or survive of your choice with no timer which makes the game endless in time.
Another good example of a sandbox genre is simulators.
Image result for goat simulator
This is Goat simulator which is a sandbox genre, this is an endless game with many achievements and it offers endless amount of game-play similar to the other examples.
Sandbox mode doesn't have a point to the game except a long period of time played doing anything you want.

5.) RPG, (Role Playing Game)
RPG is a game in which each participant assumes the role of a character, generally in a fantasy or science fiction setting, that can interact within the games imaginary world.
An example of games that are RPG type games are: Skyrim, Dark Souls, Fallout 3
Image result for Skyrim gameplay
This is an image taken from Skyrim, Skyrim is a good example of a game that is a RPG. This is a fantasy type game which the character takes the role of being a dragonborn. With dragons and other creatures in the game and powers that the character has and can learn, this game is good RPG game.
Another Example of a RPG type game is Dark Souls.
Image result for dark souls 2
This is an image taken from gameplay of Dark Souls 2. This is also a fantasy type game that is a RPG. In this game the view of 3rd person is very common. In Dark souls the character plays a role of being brought back to life and taking quests and collecting souls.

6.) Puzzle
A puzzle game is usually a game that has a range of different ways of finishing game, for example using objects to open a door. Puzzle games usually makes the player think before they act and this type of genre is known to be one of the best to help the human brain. Games like portal 2 and Professor Layton etc. these are games that involve the player to think.
Image result for portal 2
This is Portal 2, in this game you can use portals to go through walls and complete puzzles, theirs some different ways the game can be done, however their is a certain root to go, to complete that mission.
Another example of a puzzle game is Professor Layton
 Image result for professor layton
In this game (Professor Layton) their are many different types of mini puzzle games that this game has, which are different at times. these puzzles are great to get you thinking and it has arrange of different puzzles which would make the game popular.
Puzzle type genres are just trying to make the player think in different ways on how to fix a problem which can be handy in later life.

7.) Horror
Horror type games are to make the player feel scared and to make the emotions of the story come out, much better with the story. Horror games are good at making people feel arrange of emotions and to be into the game. Examples of games that have this type of genre are: Until Dawn, Dying light, Five Nights at Freddy's.
 Image result for until dawn
This is an image taken from a scene of Until Dawn. This game you can chose different choices which can end up characters losing their life's. It involves the player and has a big amount of scenes which you watch to build up the intensity.
Another example of a Horror game is Five Nights At Freddy's
Image result for five nights at freddy's 3
This is an image of one of the examples for Five Nights At Freddy's 3. In the game its main scare factor is jump scares which is to make the player uneasy through out the gameplay. Its a very popular horror game and is addicting to try to get to the fifth night.

8.) Sports
Sport Game types are a range of different type of sport which people would want to play. This is aimed at people that like to watch sport and would like to play. Sport types already have an audience at the start as its aiming at people that are interested in watching sport.
An example of games that people like to play are: Fifa, Kinect Sports, Fight Night.
 Image result for fifa 16
Fifa 16 is a game which is about football. The game is Very popular for those that like football, the game allows you to make a team up and to control any of the characters on your team which gives the player more to play with.
The game has different types of leveled footballers which would be cool to tell a friend that you got on the rarest, this also advertises the idea of paying for football cards.
Another example is a sport which involves the player more.
Image result for kinect sports
This is Kinect sports which involves the player to actually get in involved with the different type of sports. This is mainly aimed at family's and in the teens. This is great game to play to have fun and win someone at a sport you love without even playing the real thing.

9.) Racing
Racing genres are aimed at people that are into racing and vehicles. The latest versions of racing games show off the style of the newest cars which are advertising for other companies. The racing games have different tracks to short to long and to different places for example a mountain or in the country side.
Examples of racing games are Fast and furious, Need for Speed etc.
Image result for fast and furious game
Fast and Furious is a racing game that is about winning races to win the opponents car. Each win gives money and other cars which can be useful to go through when choosing certain missions. Each race is different, for example; the country side or the streets, theirs also a mode where you can free play and try and earn achievements by doing stunts and skills.
Another example of a racing game is "Need for Speed"
Image result for need for speed game
Need for Speed is a newer version of a racing game compared to Fast and Furious. This game has higher graphics and try's to make it seem photo-realism. This game is aiming to look like an actual real life racing game which cops and other races involved.

10.) Stealth
Stealth games are used when a player needs to be quite and do a mission in a certain way. Most of these games have a range of ways to do a certain activity. Games that are stealth type, don't usually want front on combat and so the difficulty of the AI are much harder to survive because of the difference in strength. Games like Hitman and Thief are great examples of games that would find it hard on front on combat and so the game has to be played in the way of stealth.
An example of a stealth game is Hitman:
Image result for hitman
Hitman is a great example of a game that has a range of ways to kill someone and to not be detected. This game has weapons as a second resort, which most players don't use until they are detected. This game has great graphics and good mission types. This game is trying to make the player feel like an actual hitman.
Another example is Thief:
Image result for thief
Thief is a good example of a stealth game as it wants you to play with the skills of stealth, for example melee weapons to a bow which none of them would make sound. The games goal is for the player to play with skill and to not be detected by the enemies. The game is about a man that takes valuable objects from people with out them knowing. Both examples have ways to kill someone and are both trying to make the player play in a certain way.

The Impacts of Computer Games on Society
Task (2)

The Bad that computer games bring:
Image result for bad effects of gaming

Concerns such as excess playing time.)
There are a lot of health problems with playing games for long periods of time without breaks, some games even offer suggestions to take a break after a hours game play and repeat the warnings.
This can create depression and anxiety and ignoring responsibilities.Time that has spent on gaming can affect the activities that are fundamental to their physical, social and intellectual development.
Addiction is a severe problem in Asian countries such as China and Korea.

(Social isolation)
Social isolation is when a player spends more time on games than in the real world. This can cause huge problems that can end in extreme ways if its not handled. People that are addicted to playing video games for a long time can create a addiction, which can be severe in some cases. The higher the addiction the less likely they are to have good social skills.

(Cost)
All video games come with a price to either buy the product or to later pay in the game. Most games now a days like the idea of making you pay for it, then showing you exclusive deals you can get, for example: DLCs, game extensions, weapons. Some games are made to be that impossible to beat you would likely have to buy the products its recommending.
Theirs another way games produce money and that's the things the game requires for example:
Kinect, microphone, live, console, controller etc...
Phones especially are giving out free games that have ads that pop up and other mission which you have to unlock by a very high level or some money.

(Separation from reality)
Separation from reality is when the player doesn't know what's the real world, this usually happens to those that are addicted to gaming. These people will not interact with anyone and can be dangerous depending on how bad their addiction is. Which can result in tragic endings.
Some examples of this are games that include things such as, stealing cars, racing, violence and even murder. An example of this is the game "Manhunt" in which you play a character in a strange and dangerous situations, this was also related to a murder in the UK after someone playing the game was claimed to be obsessed with the game.

The Good that computer games bring:
Image result for good effects of gaming
Benefits (hand-eye coordination, brain training)
A growing body of research indicates that playing first-person action games, particularly shooters, improves brain function. Studies cited by Scientific American Mind found that players who played shooters often fared better in tests of abilities such as spatial reasoning, spatial focus, visual acuity and decision-making.
Games can help the brain improve with English and Maths though simple objectives, a good game which is a good example for helping you with English is "The typing of the dead", which makes you have to type certain words to kill the zombies (18+)

(Thinking and strategy skills)
A new British study finds that some video games can help to train the brain to become more agile and improve strategic thinking.
From biological and chemical  research doctor said
"Previous research has demonstrated that action video games, such as Halo, can speed up decision making but the current work finds that real-time strategy games can promote our ability to think on the fly and learn from past mistakes,"
Strategy games such as war games were the player has to think of a strategy to play the game help players develop thinking skills. Instead of actually controlling the player through a game time needs to be taken to make the correct decision to guide the main game playing character through the game

Video games can have positive and negative affects on the future.

(Future impact)
Their are positives and negatives when playing video games for sometime.
The positives is that:
gaming has seen benefits for hand-eye coordination in various sectors. Some reports say that surgeons who play games have become more skilled after they have practiced gaming over a period of time. Other simulation games such as pilot or driving games have advanced so far recently that virtual environments are used to train pilots and drivers.
Specific brain training games have been developed in a range of subject areas so that hand held consoles can be used as brain training games. It is thought that by giving players challenge and fun activities in game format that they are challenged using a platform that they are used to and find learning more enjoyable.

Designing a computer game.
Task (3) and Task (4)

I Decided to create a platform game that goes up and down. The game is called Leap Frog as it fits the idea that its to do with a frog and jumping.

This games Art style is Cel shaded and is exaggerated. The game wants to seem fun and have humor within the game. I decided to design the platforms as Lilly pads as it gave a better look to the game and it made sense with the title. The frog was designed in three ways. The first one is when you start on the game, this frog is small and looks harmless. The second frog is much bigger and looks a little funny. The third Frog looks similar to the second yet it has a fly in its mouth to show it won and the eyes of the frogs have increase in resolution.
The small flies were made simply using a quick paint tool to make some lines. The main fly's out line on the other hand was originally taken from the internet then changed to make it my work. The paint tool made the character seem more dangerous compared to the others that have been created. It was also edited to seem like it was the biggest fly in the world. With darker tones and exaggerated features it links in well.

The game's main character is a frog which wants to eat as many flies as possible, The main objective in this game is to reach the top, where the biggest fly lives. The frog wants to become the biggest and the best frog in the world.
The Game scores in two ways. The height and the amount of flies that have been eaten. The game has a sandbox mode which never ends, For example like "Flappybirds". The Game has a leader-board which would be fun and and addicting for players to beat. The game wants an endless time of fun and humor while playing the game.
When the frog reaches the top on the main mode the game turns into a mini game which would be unlocked after winning. The game involves you and a fly, to win the game you need to jump on the Lilly pad that the fly is hovering other which is can be frustrating, this part requires skill and thought. The Fly can call in a fly swarm which heads in a straight direction trying to knock you off the Lilly pad, if the frog falls into the pond its game over.

Also in this game collecting flies, help in the future of the game as it increase your size which will be much easier to take out the main fly at the end yet harder when jumping to each platform.
In the game on different platforms better and worst objects start to hover over the Lilly pads, for good example bigger flies can be found and frogs that will increase your health bar. A bad example is that some Lilly pads are weak and cant handle the weight which means that the frog will fall into the pond (Game-over).
An Image of the platforms in Leap Frog
This is an example of what the good platform looks like and the bad one. The one that is good is green when the other is brown. The colours of the different Lilly pads are easy to notice at the start and then the colours slowly fade which makes the player have to concentrate.
This is an image of when you reach the top of the game and then sent to the mini game which you have to eat the fly to win.
With simple graphics and complex objectives this game would aimed at teens and younger as its aimed at phone users or people that have computers. The game doesn't want to seem too serious so the graphics are done on paint.
The colours used are also helping the idea of a fun non-serious game.
