P2 Creating Concept art for Computer Games

Concept art is a form of illustration used to convey an idea for use in (but not limited to) films, video games, animation or comic books before it is put into the final product. Concept art is also referred to as visual development and concept design
Computer Game graphics
(Print Media Graphics, such as posters, game packaging)
Print media is used for advertisement for the computer game. The graphics used on print media have a range of techniques to make people want to buy it. For example bright colours or effective fonts will help sell the game much quicker.
In-game graphics (Heads up Display Graphics, Sprite graphics)
In-game graphics the graphic style is much lower in quality compared to the print media side of graphics (Usually). The game graphics verify depending on the type of genre and the target audience. The sprite graphics are used due to the limitation of the time.
Visual Style (Colour, Style, photo-realistic, Cel Shaded, Anime)
Visual art styles are used to make games look more diverse so that they are easy to distinguish among other games. Photo-realism is used to make games look more realistic, an example being the Call of Duty franchise. The opposite to this would be Cel-shading, where games are made to look more like a cartoon or anime, an example being Splatoon.
Composition
Composition is when in pictures specific locations so that they have more attention to them so they are the main focus, an example of a style that uses this is rule of thirds, where the main features in a picture are put along the lines around the third of the way of the picture so they have more of a focus.
Typography
Typography is a big thing when it comes to the graphic side of development. Fonts are used to make things stand out and other all to catch the consumers eye. There are arrange of different types of fonts, for example bold to curvy to a simple text. these are all used in different ways to make the design the best quality it can give.
Technical considerations, (e.g. File format, file size, Optimizing, file name, intended output.)
technical considerations are used to make the image keep and contain more pixels and better quality. the file names are also used to give the best effect for that type of development for example .dox would be better for word and not graphics. It also is used to make the the design better by editing it.
